Ten patients abroad benefited from 27 organ donations by Maltese persons between January and September last year, information given in Parliament today shows.
Health minister Joseph Cassar said that two kidneys were donated to patients in Italy and two to patients in the UK while four kidneys were used by patients in Malta.
Five livers donated by Maltese persons were used in Italy and one in the UK while 13 corneas were all transplanted in Malta.
