I refer to the letter by Anthony Mizzi titled Interest Charged On Utility Bills (February 20).

We would like to take the opportunity to clarify with our customers that the charge of six per cent interest on overdue bills applies in three circumstances: If the bill is based on an actual reading and is overdue; if the bill is a six-monthly actual bill, issued on estimate, due to the consumer not providing access to his/her meter and if the bill is issued on a reading submitted by the customer.
