The Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) has secured funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) to finance its Employability Programme. This programme is intended to strengthen lifelong learning as a core value of Maltese workers.

The programme supports people who lack the necessary skills to compete in today's demand-driven labour market. Television is being used to teach literacy and numeracy; this is useful for those who find it difficult to attend courses at ETC training centres.

The Maltese literacy programme, Nibdew mill-Lum, is aired on Wednesday at 12.30 p.m. and repeated at 6.30 p.m. on Education 22 and shown again on Thursday at 10 a.m. on TVM.

The English literacy programme, English Link, is aired on Education 22 every Friday at 12.30 p.m., with a repetition at 6.30 p.m. and another on Tuesday at 10 a.m. on TVM.

ETC will be holding a meeting for clients who are attending, or are interested in attending the English literacy course at the ETC Training Centre in Old Theatre Street, Valletta, on Wednesday at 1.30 p.m. Those wishing to attend the session are to call 2220 1609 or 2220 1610.
