Multigas integrates its business processes

Multigas Ltd has consolidated its manufacturing plant and operations data by introducing a fully integrated IT solution to streamline its business processes. Microsoft Dynamics GP, with the latest cylinder control system specifically developed by Megabyte Ltd, offered the desired holistic solution Multigas was seeking.

Multigas supplies industrial and medical gases in Malta, with its origins dating to 1926. It supplies liquid and gaseous oxygen and other medical gases to the island's major health institutions. It also serves patients from its site in Kirkop.

Multigas produces, imports and distributes the widest range of industrial gases to major manufacturing concerns and thousands of individual clients.

Megabyte of Mosta was tasked to propose a holistic solution that could streamline Multigas' operations by providing integration between the operation and the manufacturing plant. The solution is aimed at defining workflows that promote efficiency, track customer buying patterns, proactively manage inventory, distribution and pricing within one system, control critical business information across the network, and produce timely intelligent reports for fast decision making.

Megabyte came up with a consolidated solution with Microsoft Dynamics GP, a comprehensive enterprise resource planning solution, Megabyte CCS (a bespoke system developed using Microsoft Visual Studio), and HP hardware providing a robust platform to support the applications.

"Megabyte CCS bolts on to Microsoft Dynamics GP to guarantee accurate and timely information with a complete history of each cylinder as it moves through the manufacturing cycle. The system is designed to be intuitive and practical by providing features that are available via both the desktop and mobile components of the solution," John Bonello at Megabyte's Microsoft Enterprise Solutions Business Unit explained.

Megabyte's team of certified software implementers and business consultants helped Multigas to streamline their existing business processes and implemented various Microsoft Dynamics GP modules to cater for their operations and financial needs including inventory control, sales order processing, receivables and payables management and general ledger.
