Pub chain born in Gozo spreads to Budapest
A chain of pubs born in Gozo 10 years ago, spreads to Budapest on Saturday when the Café Jubilee is officially opened in a joint venture with the Corinthia group.
"We are very proud that our journey which started in Victoria has now taken us to mainland Europe and we want to celebrate the occasion together with all those Maltese who have loved and supported the Café Jubilee brand since the first day, said Alex Scicluna, Director of Cafè Jubilee.
"Of course, Budapest is our first breakthrough overseas and a very important milestone in our history and we are indeed thankful to Alfred Pisani, Chairman and CEO of the Corinthia Group for giving us this remarkable opportunity in opening our first international outlet in a property owned by Corinthia Group," said Alex Scicluna, Director of Cafè Jubilee.
The launching of the Cafè Jubilee brand in Budapest is a strategic partnership and joint venture with Corinthia Group and is set to position the Café Jubilee brand on the international map jointly with a company who has outstanding international experience, with an outlet that reflects the brand experience which has made Cafè Jubilee so successful in Malta and Gozo. The site for the new bistro pub in Budapest is a corner property located in the heart of the city on one of the main thoroughfares.

A big well done to the Scicluna brothers. Even if they hail from Gozo with all the difficulties mainly because of its double insularity it did not prevent them from achieving this remarkable result. Well done again!

Alex you never told me about your business plans when we sat in the same bench at school. That was some 30 years ago! Good luck!

MTA should/ought to shoulder on so that this franchise expands horizons further,....
just as much that MTA sponsors football teams,
they ought to help expand this venture as it could easily help push/pull tourism towards these medit islands.....
win/win.....
well done Jubilee....

Can we have one in London please? Like in, soon? I ain't got all day you know!
Selling just a couple of our archipelago's delights - and advertising our islands as a holiday destination by default - a London Jubilee would be instantly popular with the crowds and the Maltese diaspora in particular. Instant success guaranteed. I was in Budapest in July but was told I was too early. Now back on home-ground, you won't get me off your back that easily. Thank you.
