Fourteen professionals were recently awarded a diploma in Applied Systemic Therapy by the Tavistock Institute, London, during a certificate-giving ceremony held at Aġenzija Appoġġ in Guardamangia. The students are all local professionals coming from backgrounds and entities such Aġenzija Sedqa and Aġenzija Sapport within the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, Cana Movement, and other entities.

The certificates were awarded to the participants who completed the course led by Yvonne Mallia, operations director Aġenzija Appoġġ, and Angela Abela, family therapist, psychologist and director for the Centre for Family Studies at the University of Malta.

The Family Therapy Service of Aġenzija Appoġġ regularly organises these training courses in family therapy in collaboration with the Tavistock Institute. Lectures are delivered by local professional family therapists.

The Tavistock postgraduate certificate and diploma courses are aimed at psychologists, social workers, general practitioners, psychiatrists, guidance teachers, counsellors, psychotherapists and nurses.
