Man stabbed in Żurrieq

A 27-year-old man was seriously injured after he was stabbed in Żurrieq yesterday, though his condition is not life threatening.

Police sources said Antoine Borg was stabbed in the chest with a knife in San Bartolomew Street at around 4 p.m. during an argument with his girlfriend, who lives with him. He initially did not seek medical attention but later visited his GP when his condition deteriorated. When the GP realised Mr Borg had been stabbed, he called an ambulance and the victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police were called and spoke to the girlfriend before arresting her. Police sources said she will be charged in the coming days.
