Malta EuroSong finalists sing to schoolchildren
Video: Mark Zammit Cordina
Schoolchildren were this morning entertained by the 20 finalists of the Go Malta EuroSong 2010, when they watched a performance at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.
The Go Malta EuroSong 2010, during which Malta’s song for the Eurovision song contest will be chosen, is being held tomorrow.
Most of the participants yesterday boycotted a dress rehearsal because they alleged that one of the contestants had more backing vocalists than permitted by the regulations.

And I thought there was too much curriculum to be taught in our schools for the time they have, apparently I was wrong...hmmm then I'll start arguing quoting this as an example.

As semi pro deejay back home in Canada, over here on vacation, i can honestly say that these gals should go back to basic and there not a hope in hell of getting anywhere, sound and speach were terrible and sorry to say, but stay home and watch the real pros. on the box. Have a nice day all .

You bring a good point B. Pollacco but come on, Eurovision? surely we can invest money in other areas like sports. I agree Maria Vella on what she said, although the intentions are there, the singers are just out to promote themselves. I know three singers taking part and all I hear from them is 'vote for me, ta!'. That's what this competition is all about isn't it? Votes.. We all know it's not a talent show. This is not the way to put Malta on the map. I feel we can really compete in sports like rugby and athletics and this is the way to go. Money should be invested more in sports because there are a lot of talented athletes on this island and if they are to succeed they are going to need help from the government. I hate to disappoint you, but the best song never wins anyway.

What an utter waste of time. Is this an attempt to gather more votes? Please do not tell me that this educational or cultural. In a manifestation full of controversy did we also have to include the?

Someone should have sent child services over. Having to endure 20 singers for Malta's Entry to Eurovision is nothing short of child abuse. Sorry, but seriously, there are better ways of entertaining children.
Why can't we follow in Italy's example and just boycott this sorry excuse of a competition.

I do hope that this performance was free of charge.
I'm saying this because I know how unhappy would children, whose parents couldn't afford to send them to such entertainment, feels if they are left out.
I know, I have family parents who are so pressed up.
