The front page of The Times and The Sunday Times are now on the virtual world map, thanks to a website showing the front pages of the world by location.

As of yesterday, Allied Newspapers' publications are listed on a world map on newseum.org alongside publications as diverse as The New York Times, the Honolulu Advertiser and Italy's Corriere della Sera. Newseum.org is the website of the Newseum, a Washington museum that takes visitors through a tour of five centuries of news.

The Newseum is affiliated with the Freedom Forum, a non-profit foundation dedicated to "free press, free speech and free spirit for all people".

Phelim Cavlan, of Allied Newspapers, said this happened thanks to the initiative of readers who suggested that Allied Newspapers joined the site.

Because of the snowstorms hitting Washington over the past weeks, the process to get The Times on Newseum.org took a bit longer, Mr Cavlan said, but now the newspaper was up with the rest.

"This continues to expand the reach of our publications to an international audience" Mr Cavlan said.
