The Malta Standards Authority said today it is recalling tricycles of the type shown in the picture, made by Guangdong Overseas Chinese Ent. Co. Ltd, due to a risk they pose to consumers.

The hazard consists in the fact that these tricycles have a foam protective cover which prevents small children from falling off the tricycle. This foam may be bitten by the children using the tricycle, who may choke on the small parts.

The MSA urged consumers to take the tricycles back to the point of purchase for a modification to be made to the foam.

Importers and retailers of this make of product shall make the necessary changes before the products are returned to consumers.
