Sports facilities at Birżebbuġa

It was very heartening to see so many distinguished guests at the inauguration of the Pembroke Athletic FC football ground.

I hope Michel Platini visits the floodlights at Birżebbuġa when the extension to the Freeport terminal is inaugurated as well as the extension to the Delimara power station when it is complete. But at all costs the distinguished guest must be kept away from the sporting facilities of Birżebbuġa, in particular the waterpolo pitch, as he may be tempted to steal the patent for it and take it to France with him, and do the same with the patch of sand that the Birżebbuġa lovers of the 'beautiful game' have at their disposal.
