Nursing students yesterday measured people's blood pressure and gave information on healthy living in aid of the earthquake victims in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

The second-year students of-fered their services against a donation at the entrance to the Department of Health in Merchants Street, Valletta.

Health Minister Joe Cassar congratulated them on their initiative which, he said, went beyond their education.

He stressed the importance of seeing more students choosing a career in the healthcare sector.

The government would continue to invest in the continual development of healthcare professionals, who were the cornerstone of optimal health care delivery services, Dr Cassar said.
