Woman injured in traffic accident
Video: Mark Zammit Cordina
A 35-year-old woman from Mtarfa has been taken to hospital for treatment after a head-on collision between the Peugeot 106 she was driving and a Ready-Mix truck at Triq is-Salini, near Kennedy Grove, this morning. Her injuries are not serious.
The police said the 53-year-old truck driver, who is from Mellieha, was not injured. He was driving his truck from St Julian's to Qawra and the woman was driving the Peugeot in the opposite direction.
One lane is currently closed to traffic until the Ready-Mix truck is emptied into another.

Are these "Ready-Mix" trucks the same ones that regularly spill their mix onto the t'Alla w Ommu hill road ?
One wonders whether such solidified concrete spill is being left there on purpose so that vehicles' tyres may have something to grip on along one of Malta's most well known slippery uphill/downhill "roads". LOL

there was a photo earlier on which showed elizabeth's car under the truck but they've replaced it with a video in which the car was already removed - truly an unfortunate accident - the photo clearly showed elizabeth was on her lane and it was the truck which skidded onto her.

They hurt other people FEELINGS IN SUFFERING with their uninformed comments and therefore useless. Well done you should be proud of yourselves and of your beleifs.

very well said Eric but seems that today's drivers dont want to see sense. Just push the gas pedal and they dont even know where the braking pedal is. Hope no one was gravely injured in this accident. No wonder our sole hospital is too small for all the accidents which occur on a daily basis. No wonder there are beds in the hospital's corridors. And then we lament.

Roads are slippery and braking distance takes double the time when driving under normal conditions. Therefore everybody drive carefully and keep ample distance from cars in front of you, slow down at intersections and road crossings. There is no "undo" button for accidents, so prevention and patience is a virtue that must be kept in mind. Better 5 minutes late than a couple of days in bed, hospital or worst.
