Atlas Group and JMFS inaugurate new office

Atlas Insurance PCC Limited, Atlas Investment Services Ltd (AISL) and Jesmond Mizzi Financial Services (JMFS) have officially inaugurated their new branch in Birkirkara which is situated at 1 Psaila Street. This branch is part of a strategic move which promotes the upcoming merger between AISL and JMFS.

"This joint branch initiative will provide a unique 'one stop shop' for the community which aims at increasing the choice and quality of insurance and financial services products available in the area. Atlas Insurance will provide a full range of personal insurance services such as motor, boat, home and travel as well as a claims service.

"Existing clients of AISL and JMFS, as well as potential clients, will be able to obtain investment advice on local and international bonds and shares as well as a wide range of collective investment schemes," a company statement said.

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech, who was present at the inauguration, said that the insurance sector grew six-fold since Malta's EU membership with total premiums increasing from €116 million to €650 million.

Jesmond Mizzi, managing director of JMFS stated that the opening of this branch is the first of a series of initiatives between Atlas and JMFS. The merged investment services company to be named Atlas JMFS Investment Services, will be jointly managed by Jean P Gaffiero and Jesmond Mizzi, while John Catania and Mark Azzopardi will act as executive directors. Mr Mizzi also stated that this "one stop shop" concept is also being offered from the existing Atlas Insurance, Paola branch.
