Maltese boxers Haithem Laamous and Clint Grech have just started a two-week training programme in Wales. The visit is organised and funded by Nino Spiteri, the Malta Boxing Federation representative in the UK.

Spiteri hails from Gozo and has been involved in the sport since his early teens, amassing loads of experience and establishing contacts in the amateur and professional game along the years. He is involved in the promotion of boxing shows and worked with various British, Commonwealth and world champions.

In Wales, Laamous and Grech are practising at Simon Harris's Station Gym along with the Welsh international team under Enzo Maccarinelli, former WBO cruiserweight champion and Steve Robinson, ex-world featherweight champion.

They also met Nathan Cleverley, current Commonwealth light heavyweight champion.
