Valletta stroll past Hibs
Valletta 2
Hibernians 0
Valletta strolled past Hibernians in impressive fashion to move into the semi-finals of the National League 100 Anniversary Cup this evening.
Ton Caanen’ side contained too much style and steel for Hibernians as the Centenary Cup holders demonstrated that they fully intend to put their hands on the once-in-a lifetime trophy as they did 10 year ago.
Roderick Briffa’s low drive put the Citizens ahead after 65 minutes and Kevin Sammut slammed in a second on 73 minutes to ensure their comfortable passage into the next round.
As Hibernians found themselves a goal behind, defender Jonathan Pearson was sent off for two bookable offences.

I beg to differ ! Its befitting that this once-in-a-lifetime trophy lands in SLIEMA , who concurrently celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary , having participated in all but one, since the1st Edition of the National League in 1909/1910 .
Sliema Wanderers" 2nd Round impressive , dynamic performances in the last 6 matches , starting with their remarkable 3-1 victory against Valletta , winning 5 out of the 6 matches ,but "strangly" losing 3-0 at Hamrun , clearly confirms their potential in BRINGING HOME THIS 100 ANNIVERSARY CUP , as the 108th honour for the glorious SLIEMA WANDERERS F.C.
