Sailors complete naval gunnery course
The Maritime Squadron of the AFM has just completed a gunnery training course based around the 25/80 KBA cannon on their Offshore Patrol Vessel P-61.
The course was conducted by Italian Military Mission and a Mobile Training Team (MTT) from Italy was brought over to Malta for the purpose. Members of the Maritime Squadron had previously undergone theoretical training in Malta and in Italy on familiarisation with and of use of their ship's ordnance.
The culmination of the the training was a live-fire exercise at sea which saw involved all the P-61's gunnery course students.
"The acquired knowledge of gunnery procedures, the dedicated methodology of tuition and the high degree of professionalism achieved now allows an inhouse training capability for the AFM to further train other Maritime Squadron personnel on the 25/80 KBA cannon," the Italian Military Mission said.

Whats with the craze about gun courses for the AFM lately? So many years into human evolution and all we think about is how to destroy ourselves...

it is useless to have all this hardware when the sailors cannot use it. instead of maritime squadron, our / european politicians should have named it europe's southern border water taxi service. what's the use of having ordinance when your hands are tied?
