17-year old accused of kicking policewoman
A17-year-old boy who cannot be named because he is a minor, was remanded in custody today after he pleaded not guilty to kicking a police woman in the leg as the officers tried to break up a fight in Paceville.
The boy, who is the son of a well-known criminal, allegedly kicked Sergeant Mariucca Scicluna in the leg when she tried to pull him out of a fight on Saturday at around 1 a.m.
The boy pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring her, threatening officers, disobeying orders, breaching public peace and breaching the conditions of a previous release.
Lawyer Joe Brincat said there were around 20 young men who had turned on his client, and with no friends around to help him out, a fight broke out.
Police Inspector Nikolai Sant, said that the police were there to help him and this attack was completely unwarranted. He added that the accused was always walking past police, gesturing and making offensive signs to them and they turned a blind eye.
Dr Brincat rebutted and said that because of his fathers’ situation, and certain comments and articles in the media, his client's mother has lost a lot of work and was finding it hard to bring him up properly.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman after considering the arguments in her chambers remanded him in custody.

Michael Andrews - Maybe it's time real discipline and realistic values are taught, rather then the aging "God, priests and left/right-wing politics are better then you'll ever be" which students have grown up with.
Parents have grown with bad discipline/values, they teach them (less) to their children, giving the results you're mentioning.
Today it takes more then blind rules to keep one going, times have changed, did the adults change as well?
Give a look to the Nadur/Carnival/Police issue and you can see the product of both age groups.

Unfortunately you mentioned 2 words which mean very little in today's society....
Discipline and values.
Discipline went out the window years ago and values are going downhill quicker than a bus falling off a cliff.
i am not saying corporal punishment is the answer but it did no harm to me and the rest of my generation.
We were taught good manners and my father only had to look at me and i knew what he was saying.
Today's kids just laugh in their parents faces.( not all of them obviously)

A Police hater thats what he allegedly is, unless he recieves psychiatric help he could become a worse criminal then his father.

Once you grow up, you understand the need of good discipline that makes you grow up straight and with healthy values.
