Congratulations to all the seminarians that were accepted to a step forward to the priesthood.
A special greetings to Mario Dimech, a very young man of character and very charismatic in
his faith in God. I spent a few months with Mario at San Manuel Chaparron, Guatemala where he made a big impact with the villagers and a tremendous bond with the 22 Altar boys and girls of the Parish. Mario was great help to Father Anton Grech who made a big impact at Chaparron and the 10 adjacant Aldeas in the area. Maybe we can meet again at Cerro San Gil, Izabal, Guatemala, the new home of Father Anton. One last note to all seminarians: you have chosen a great Parish (Senglea) for your accepatnce as Maria Bambina and Gesu Redentur will guide you to a very joyfull and success in the priesthood.
God Bless you all.

@ Simon Cutajar. With all due respect, what in God's name makes you think that a priest of any age, never mind a young one, is qualified to guide a couple when they encounter problems in their marriage? Maybe you know something I do not know. Please tell. Thank you.

May you be happy and may you be Granted the great gift to serve the Lord on his alter not like me who can only serve the Lord at the side of the Alter. I wish you all the best. You have found favor in Gods eyes, may you be granted the grace that I always prayed for. God Bless and all the best. Pax Et Bonum

All religious people, in their useful work, face temptations as we do. They must not be protected against any temptations, they will have to face them and overcome them, even if they stay in Malta.

Pule`, we all know you do static imagery. In 1956 and still in 2010 by the looks of it. See what YOU wrote all of two weeks ago in 'A beautiful winter day at San Blas'. (thanks to you I had a dream of a card-board cutout on said beach. I woke up screaming hysterically - with laughter.

Carmel, you need not worry. I do not think any of these young stalwarts will be expected to drive a Citroen from anywhere to anywhere, no questions asked. And tell us, why would they end up in Albania of all places, celibate or not? I think they are needed here on homeground tto minister to the pressing needs - not financial of course - of guys like you. You're a hoot!!
Carmel, I know all about the Navy. And Albania. Nudge! Nudge! Wink! Wink!
Good luck boys. You'll do a fine job wherever you end up. Beware of wolves in sheeps' clothing in Malta, never mind Albania!

Have heart; be brave and courageous, not only religious, for the straight paths are all full of bad temptations. Many people will approach you for assistance; learn it from now, YOU CANNOT PLEASE EVERYBODY!!
Here are some of the temptations I had while I lived in Malta and in England. My colleagues fell for them, I held my values. Stealing cigarettes and liquor from the holds of Royal Naval Ships, also cables, shafts and propellers, copying in examinations, lying to gain, Shirking work, Spying and uncovering confidential circuits while I worked in NavalDockyards, I was invited to drive cars (CitroenDB21s) from London/to/Paris inFrance, whereI was not to ask any questions, but simply own the car after they hold it for 2 days!! Write off, high capital value equipment, so that insurance will pay and they retain the “Damaged equipment.” To attend freely, clubs in Soho London. I must admit that once I did attend “The WINDMILL” which was well known for its female artistic exhibitions, all statics in 1956 (definitely not pornographic).
If before you become priests you visit places like Albania, be careful with your wording for they find it difficult to believe that a man can be celibate.

I just have one piece of advice and that is to read the bible. If you truly believe the bible is the word of God then you will understand that nothing pleases God as an honest repented person who seeks his Creator with all his heart in all truth. Seek and you shall find. Seek in God's words not in doctrines or religious institutions. We have one life and one soul. Do not waiste them. I will pray for all of you that you receive the Holy Spirit and understand the truth. Remeber, Proverbs1: 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. God bless you.

Things are lookin' up. Things are hottin' up. I hope they know what they are letting themselves in for. I understand - what do I know? - that finding a good woman is getting more and more difficult these days but does it have to come to something as drastic as this? Join the Navy and see the world. Or Frontex and intimately get to know a 'scorcio' (small part) of your own waters. After all the life of a priest cannot be THAT easy. Only kidding of course. Good luck boys!

May God who chose you, bless you, Still, God loves the world and Malta especially. This is ample proof, if needed, that there are youngsters who can choose what is right from what is left. I understand that one of the eight is an accountant who left a good job and perhaps marriage to go for a celibate life and vocation instead of a lucrative profession. That says a lot to all of us in these particular days in Malta.

This is some good news! The country should be proud of such young people who will be dedicating their life for the Church and the Lord.
