Wanderers end Greens Championship Pool hopes

Sliema Wanderers scored their third win in a row after outplaying traditional rivals 3-0 at the Hibs Stadium.
The result ended Floriana’s hopes of reaching the top six and confirmed Tarxien Rainbows as the sixth and final team to play in the Championship Pool this season.
It was Sliema who took the lead on 11 minutes when Ryan Fenech’s powerful drive flew past a helpless Bernard Paris, the Floriana goalkeeper.
Sliema’s hopes were dented on half-hour when Pedrinho was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
But despite their numerical advantage Floriana failed to profit and it was Sliema who sealed the points on 66 minutes when Mintoff was floored in the area by Julian Briffa and a penalty was awarded. Lucian Dronca made no mistake from the spot.
Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza added a third goal in stoppage time when he was picked by the steaming Mintoff and the Sliema forward fired the ball past Paris.
Floriana ended the match with ten men when Pablo Doffo was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge on Mintoff.
Sliema’s Ryan Fenech was named BOV Player of the Match.

Press Reports regarding Pedrinho Calcado's dismissal ,are contrasting .
His second Yellow was shown because he re-placed the ball not exactly where the referee had indicated i.e BACK or FORWARD a few CENTIMETERS ! That he was ordered not to touch the ball . That he was wasting time (?????) and that probably he uttered foul language .
It has become noticeable , this season , that most of the referees are very strict with Sliema when taking set-pieces, free kicks , throw inns etc . stressing the exact point , whereas other teams and a particular one is tolerated to gain not centimeters but as much as 5 meters . Another factor is that the moment Sliema gain possession , the opponents player/s deliberately falls to gain a foul and even more frustrating when the Sliema players , stop dead in their attack for the sake of Fair Play , when this is pure acting ! Hopefully , these antics will be kept in check . I take the opportunity to applaud firstly the Sliema Wanderers Players for their recent dinamic displays , and theTechnical Staff , President and Committee members for their determination and productive work .

I. Borg No worry we to have 26 Leagues all made from Sliema and 20 Fa Trophy and many manyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy others . We also have a Cup which is at Floriana and does not belong to your club. Cousis Shield . Staqsi dwara ! And the best is IX XIHA wow ! Good Luck with the Russian Roulete.
