The members of the Labour Party’s national executive were elected yesterday with former MP Maria Camilleri obtaining the highest number of votes, 553.

The party said 743 delegates (89.5 per cent) cast their vote.

Five women were elected with none having to make use of the women’s quota. Another unused quota was that for young people, since five were elected.

The other elected members besides Ms Camilleri are Brian Hansford (541), Salvu Seychell (538), Guza Cassar (529), Mario Azzopardi (507), Krista Caruana (501), Alex Sciberras (498), Alison Zerafa (489), Nettu Farrugia (471), Alfred Grixti (464), Jonathan Brimmer (449); and Nikita Zammit Alamango (434).

Alex Muscat, Frans Agius, Stanley Mifsud, Gerlene Camilleri and Antoinette Vassallo were not elected.
