With regard to the incident that occurred outside the Casino di Venezia, at Vittoriosa Waterfront, on Wednesday evening, when a photographer of The Times was manhandled by casino employees, possibly security men, The Times would like to point out the following:

1) Two Casino di Malta security personnel - an Italian national and a Maltese - apologised to the photographer on Thursday afternoon at a meeting held at the Cospicua police station.

2) In view of the apology, the photographer declared he was not insisting that charges be brought against the security personnel.

3) The Times informed Casino di Venezia on Thursday evening that a statement it had circulated speaking of an agreement between the parties and declaring that "The parties also agreed that the matter has now been resolved" was completely out of context because there was never any agreement in any form between "the parties".
