Two Casino di Venezia security personnel have apologised to The Times photographer who was manhandled following the hold-up at the Casino on Wednesday and the photographer has accepted their apology.

In a statement, The Times said that with regard to the incident that occurred outside the Casino di Venezia, at Vittoriosa Waterfront, when its photographer was manhandled by casino employees, possibly security men, two Casino di Venezia security personnel – an Italian national and a Maltese – apologised to the photographer yesterday afternoon at a meeting held at the Cospicua police station.

In view of the apology, the photographer declared he was not insisting that charges be brought against the security personnel.

The Times said it informed Casino di Venezia yesterday evening that a statement it had circulated speaking of an agreement between the parties and declaring that “The parties also agreed that the matter has now been resolved” was completely out of context since there was never any agreement in any form between “the parties”.
