Msida defeat Dingli

Dingli Swallows 1

Msida St Joseph 2

Msida St Joseph grabbed their first win in five matches when they beat bottom-placed Dingli Swallows 2-1 at the Hibs Stadium.

There was never any doubt on who would take the three points as Msida held the edge right from the outset and could have scored a more comprehensive win had they taken the chances that came their way.

Msida took the lead on 53 minutes when Emiliano Lattes picked the advancing Tyrone Farrugia who had little difficulty in firing the ball past Jeffrey Farrugia, the Dingli goalkeeper.

The Saints doubled their lead on 75 minutes when Lattes stormed past two opponents before serving Andrew Formosa who had little difficulty in shooting the ball home. Dingli pulled a goal back two minutes from time when Joseph Okonkwo headed the ball home from a Kurt Formosa corner.

Msida’s Tyrone Farrugia was the BOV Player of the match.
