Postgraduate courses in logistics

As part of ongoing educational and training activities, a group of mature students from public and private sectors have started their postgraduate programmes in Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management. The Master's programmes are awarded by Birmingham City University.

The postgraduate programmes, offered by SSM Group, of Ħamrun, are being delivered by the Faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment (TEE) in Birmingham and supported by the lecturing staff of SSM Group.

Last year, Birmingham City University continued to obtain high results according to data collected from the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service in the UK.

A well-known and respective publication in the UK, the Times Higher Education, published that applications to university are up almost eight per cent and more mature students are planning to study.

By January 15, the number of people who applied for undergraduate courses hit 464,167, up from 430,489 last year. Birmingham City University, Bucks New University and the universities of Portsmough and Hull saw increases of 25 per cent or more.

SSM Group was the local pioneer of logistics training in 1998. The group has continued to enhance its portfolio by providing a full training and qualifications structure in logistics and supply chain management and operations management.

It is the local branch for the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK and Institute of Operations Management, also in the UK. The group has three branches in the UK, Malta and the UAE.
