Air Malta has chosen Sabre Airlines Solutions' Air Centre flight plan manager to modernise and streamline its operations, the airline said. Several other solutions from Sabre's Air Centre enterprise operations suite are already used by Air Malta.
Air Malta said Sabre was selected because it offered the most comprehensive solution that also provided flexibility and cost savings. Air Malta now has a fully integrated solution including Sabre's Air Centre movement control, crew control, load manager, and flight plan manager.
Sabre's flight planning system uses advanced fuel planning optimisation methods, such as variable cost index along with random routing, to produce the most cost effective route of flight. The system allows airlines flexibility to control its setup and output of flight plan data.
By adopting the flight planning system as part of the comprehensive Sabre Air Centre Enterprise Operations solution, Air Malta can leverage common data-sharing for timely information exchange. This results in increased productivity. Air Malta can now run simulated scenarios to determine optimum solutions prior commencing its operations.
Sabre Air Centre Enterprise Operations includes an extensive portfolio of solutions serving every area of an airline's operation, maximising efficiency, providing significant cost savings and improving the ability to manage the unpredictable aspects of daily operations. Air Malta will leverage the Sabre Air Centreoperations portfolio to continue in its efforts to streamline flight operations, crew management, scheduling, and reservations, the airline said.
