Louis Galea to be nominated to European Court of Auditors
The Speaker of the House, Louis Galea, is expected to be Malta's nominee for the European Court of Auditors, informed sources said this evening.
He will be succeeding Prof Josef Bonnici.
The appointment will mark the end of Dr Galea, political career, which saw him serving as Minister of Social Policy, Home Affairs and Education after having been PN General Secretary. He failed to win re-election at the last general election and was appointed Speaker.
Dr Galea had been tipped for a return to the Cabinet should he have opted to stand for the casual election to succeed John Dalli, who will step down this month to become European Commissioner.
More details in The Sunday Times tomorrow.

I am going to make the readers to remember that DR. LOUIS GALEA is the man who reconstruct the Nationalist Party in 1970 when he was the Party secretary. He has a very good vision of what he is going to do, when one will look backwards in all the ministers he was responsable one could realise what I am saying.
In the fifth district we lost a person that I think we will not have another one like him.
A big thank you to DR LOUIS GALEA

Possibli bilfors irid ikun membru parlamentari jew speaker biex jahtfu pozizzjoni li tirrendi hawn Malta?M'hawnx AWDITURI kapaci li jisthoqqilhom dak il-post li mhux fil Politika? Nammetti li Josef Bonnici vera kienet tixraqlu li jkun f'dik il-pozizzjoni Imma nahseb li Dr.Louis Galea ahjar baqa Speaker ghax nemmen li mhux kwalifikat bhala Awditur.Insomma Dr.Louis Galea ghandek garanzija ta 6 SNIN PAGA FENOMINALI.

Allow me to wish Dr. Galea my sincere greeting for he sure is an all rounder. I guess his wish of taking it easy and learn to play the piano has to wait a bit longer before he get down to it..

So with Louis Galea out of the way ,we are going to get foisted with another disgruntled back-bencher and wannabe minister (or I will stamp my fool a la Franco Debono) in the John Dalli bye-election: Robert Musumeci, present mayor of Siggiewi. Oh well, Lawrence Gonzi can always have him implement the MEPA reform; after all , the erstwhile candidate knows all about the ins and outs of MEPA.

Franco Debono will be right chuffed with Dr. Galea’s nomination. If Gonzi uses his genius of manipulating the people around him to govern the country he would become our best prime minister so far.

The other two candidates for the PN leadership race will be both in Brussels. What a coincidence. Prime Minister must feel more free now. Rebel back benchers must be in line next.

I wish Dr Galea all the best !
But what he has to do with auditing ???? He's a lawyer not an accountant or an economist !!!
For me this is a clean up move from Dr Gonzi !
