What is the use of calling a nine-day general conference to approve done deals and undertakings? Labour's general conference is no longer a decision-making forum but a mere rubber-stamp.

Since becoming leader, Joseph Muscat has done away with elected posts like that of secretary general and education secretary. He has, instead, appointed chosen individuals to commanding posts, such as CEO James Piscopo. We can now expect nine days of media stunts and publicity exercises!
