The Labour Party this afternoon slammed Mepa's decision to grant an Outline Development Permit for the Delimara power station extension.
It said the decision was taken despite repeated calls by the opposition, and even governemnt MPs, to postpone it until after the Auditor-General submitted his report on the way the power station contract was awarded.
Today's decision, the PL said, reflected the arrogance which characterised the government and its authorities.
The PL noted that when its representative on the Mepa board, Roderick Galdes, moved a motion for the postponement of the decision, none of the other members of the board, all persons in which Dr Gonzi had confidence, accepted to second it.
The party said this was another example of government interference in Mepa affairs.
