Hamrun man arrested after drugs find
The police said today that they had arrested a 44-year-old man after finding him in possession of heroin.
The arrest was made in a bar in Qormi Road, Hamrun, after the police noticed suspicious movements and conducted a search on a number of persons. As the police entered the bar, the man was seen throwing a bag onto the floor. It contained 16 packets of heroin.
Drug-related items were found at the man's residence in Hamrun.
The man is expected to be arraigned on drug trafficking charges in the coming days.

Well done to the police.But who is responsible that drugs are entering the country seemingly freely.
Of course one cannot watch the whole shore from the freeport to the freeport.
Not all passengers that come by sea or air can be scanned easily.
Not all yachts are searched. They can go out and in quite freely.
But random searching might catch unexpected importers. The general public and particularly travellers should accept the idea of random searching. If one has nothing to fear then no one should protest even persons in authority Particularly since we know that there is corruption. Only those that do not have a clean conscience will protest.
