British guitarist Gordon Giltrap will be performing at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta in advance of his Shining Morn UK tour, which coincides with the release of his new studio album Shining Morn.

An acoustic and electric guitarist with musical styles that cross multiple genres, from folk blues to pop, classical to rock, Mr Giltrap's musical career started to take off in the 1960s. At the time he played live in London in the folk scene, alongside contemporaries such as Bert Jansch, John Renbourn and Mike Oldfield. He secured his first record deal at the age of 18 and has recorded over 25 albums.

In May 2007, when he performed in Malta the first time, Giltrap brought a wide-ranging programme of captivating music to the Manoel Theatre. He will play there again on February 6 and 7 offering a varied programme, a mixture of rock, blues, folk and classical styles.

His visit is being organised by Masquerade in association with SmartMove Productions.

The Manoel Theatre can be contacted by phone on 2124 6389, via e-mail on bookings@teatrumanoel. com.mt or online at www.teatru manoel.com.mt.
