HSBC Malta appoints head of global banking and markets

HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. has appointed Chris Bond as head of global banking and markets with immediate effect. Mr Bond is responsible for the bank's treasury, asset management, fund administration, custody, stockbroking and corporate advisory services.

HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. has appointed Chris Bond as head of global banking and markets with immediate effect.

Mr Bond is responsible for the bank's treasury, asset management, fund administration, custody, stockbroking and corporate advisory services. He will be focusing on developing tailored services for the bank's major corporate and financial institutions clients and extending client coverage in this important segment of the bank's operations.

Mr Bond is a graduate of City University Business School and has over 24 years experience in the treasury and capital markets industry.

Mr Bond was treasurer for HSBC in France from 1997 to 2000, and chief operating officer for HSBC - CCF from 2000 - 2003. He ran the European business development function for reserve managers, funds and insurance companies before moving on in 2004 to be treasurer and head of markets for the Bank of Bermuda which is a subsidiary of HSBC. Since 2006 he has been managing director HSBC Securities USA and head of corporate risk advisory based in New York.
