Obituary
CUSCHIERI. On January 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, Prof. ALFRED CUSCHIERI, MD, PhD (Lond.), aged 64, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Monica, née Mifsud, his daughters Astrid and Thelma and their respective husbands Engineer Ivan Zammit and Aaron Saliba, his grandchildren Aidan, Rowan and Andrea and Nadia, his sisters Miriam, wife of Joe Fenech, and Therese, his in-laws Gaston, Louis, Wilfrid, Herbert and Ingrid and their respective wives and husbands, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for the Divine Mercy Sanctuary, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, limits of Naxxar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and The Little Sisters of the Poor, Ħamrun, will be greatly appreciated.
TONNA. On January 26, at Mater Dei Hospital, TWANNY of Sliema (ex-footballer Sliema Wanderers FC and Birkirkara FC), aged 76, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Antoinette, his children John and his wife Miriam, Brian, Sandra and her husband Renald Zahra, and Darren, his grandchildren Nicholas and Angelica, his brothers and sisters, Carmel, Susan, Victor and Joe, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Storytelling in Maltese
Vers Agħtini IKM is holding storytelling sessions in Maltese every Sunday at 3.30 p.m. The interactive sessions aim to help children aged three to 11 years acquire language acquisition and communication skills and serve as an introduction to some of the island's bygone authors.

Tour of towers
The St Paul's Bay local council will be holding a cultural tour of five coastal towers in the north of Malta on February 8 at 9 a.m. The fee, €6 for residents and €7 for non-residents, also covers transport and a snack. Those interested can book at the council during office hours by February 5.
