A local warden and two men were separately taken to court this morning after they allegedly came to blows outside the vegetable market in Ta' Qali yesterday afternoon.

Carlo Micallef 25, a local warden from Msida, was accused of slightly injuring Tarcisio Bongailas 48 and his son Justin, 23, of Zabbar and of committing a crime he was duty bound to prevent.

The two Zabbar men were accused of disobeying and resisting the warden with violence.

The case allegedly took place when the warden stopped the Bongailas's truck because it was overloaded. An argument ensured and they came to blows.

All pleaded not guilty and were released on bail against a personal guarantee of €500 each.
