Birkirkara joined Valletta on top of the Premier League standings after they beat Floriana 2-1 at the National Stadium this evening,
The Stripes took the lead on 38 minutes when Floriana defender Clifton Ciantar inadvertently put the ball into his own net when trying to clear Michael Galea's cross.
Floriana managed to draw level two minutes into the second half when Ryan Darmanin pounced on a poor clearance from Birkirkara defender Branko Nisevic and fired the ball past Jorge Mora.
On 52 minutes, Birkirkara scored the all-important goal when Paris failed to deal with Shaun Bajada's cross and Michael Galea was on hand to fire the ball home.
