Swine flu claims another victim
A 94 year old man, with underlying medical conditions, died this morning following complications caused by the A H1N1 virus.
This was the fifth A H1N1-related death, the Health Department said.

what on earth.. how can a 94 year old man's (with all due respects for his nine decades) death be attributed to the H1n1 and not to other complications that this chap might have had, not to mention his venerable age?

nothing to do with this case or other H1N1 victims in Malta, but it would be interesting to know if the Intensive Care at Mater Dei has an ECMO machine? Here in Australia, this "artificial lung" has been pretty helpful to help very sick patients especially young ones to live long enough until the virus is cleared from the system.
