Maltese lira, cent and mil coins, which ceased to be legal tender after January 31, 2008 can be exchanged until February 1 at the Central Bank of Malta Annexe, St James’s Counterguard, Valletta, from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Currently 159 million of these coins with a value of Lm11 million (25.62 million euros) are still in circulation.

The Central Bank of Malta will continue to exchange Maltese lira banknotes until January 31, 2018.
