The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin has set up an internal commission to study the proposed reform in primary healthcare.

The union said it would be meeting healthcare workers and professionals as well as its delegates to ensure an "objective reflection" on such an important sector.

The commission would report to the UĦM's general council and the union would strive to ensure the patient was at the centre of every decision, it said.

The commission is made up of union president Gejtu Tanti, general secretary Gejtu Vella, assistant general secretary Jesmond Bonello, hospital workers' section secretary Joe Bonello, pensioners' section secretary Alfred St John, public entities' section secretary Josef Vella and family community doctor John Zammit Montebello.
