I read attentively the correspondence by Adrian Strickland (The Sunday Times, January 3). I also valued all the information Mr Strickland gave with regard to the colour green and the number of tassels on either side of the arms.

Still, I cannot agree with Mr Strickland's conclusion that the mentioned coat-of-arms belongs to Archbishop Maurus Caruana. In giving a look at this photograph, which illustrates Archbishop Caruana's coat-of-arms, one can see there is a huge difference between one and the other.

Furthermore, as I wrote in a previous letter (The Sunday Times, December 6, 2009), the coat-of-arms which appears on the antique Maltese wall clock bought by Frederick Galea (The Sunday Times, November 29, 2009) belongs to none other than Bishop Francesco Saverio Caruana (1759-1847).
