Accused of assaulting police
A 58-year-old Gozitan was yesterday charged with trafficking in heroin and being in possession of the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for his exclusive use last Friday.
Grazio Spiteri was also charged with assaulting a police sergeant and two constables and threatening a police inspector, a sergeant and three constables on Wednesday, the police said.
Mr Spiteri pleaded not guilty and was denied bail by Magistrate Paul Coppini.
Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.
