Staff from Munich Re insurance company planted 190 trees in the new part of Kennedy Grove today as part of the 34U campaign.

They were led by the Malta CEO, Konstantin von Jagow, who said the event marked the year since the opening of the Malta office.

Some 80,000 trees have been planted since the 34U campaign was launched five years ago.

They were donated by companies and a large number of families, in most cases to mark particular anniversaries or events.

The Resources Ministry expressed its appreciation to all donors and said a major tree planting event would be held in the near future.
