Exclusive TV football rights for three seasons
With reference to reports published in certain sections of the media regarding the exclusivity of certain sports broadcasting rights, Go would like to state that it is the only TV provider in the Maltese territory to have exclusive rights for the Barclays Premier League and the Italian Serie A as from the season 2010/11 onwards. Thus, such content cannot be broadcast by any other provider in the territory, with effect from the next football season, as part of the contractual obligations set by the international content providers of these sports rights.
As was announced last December, Go secured the exclusive local broadcasting rights for Barclays Premier League for the three football seasons 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 and Italy's Serie A for the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. The rights cover live TV coverage, as well as coverage on the internet and on mobile.
In addition, Go holds the exclusive rights to a host of other sports such as several football club channels, the English FA Cup and Community Shield, England international friendly matches and qualifiers, Formula 1 racing, Wimbledon Championships, ATP Masters Series, Fed Cup, Davis Cup, Augusta Masters, US Open, PGA Open, British Open, Ryder Cup 2010, PGA European Tour, Tri Nations Rugby Cup, Guinness Premiership, Heineken Cup and EDF Energy Cup, among others.
Go will soon announce early bird offers for its sports packages.

@ Ron Saliba; M Borg is right in asking if the MP's are happy with the present situation!! May I point out to YOU that Go Plus has disrupted all TV reception to viewers at a wide angle of 55 degrees south of Port Tommaso! I myself was happy with the antennae and booster system. Now to block the interference by Go Plus which was blessed by the malta communications authority I purchased a special filter for 30 euros. Sooner or later every body has to switch to either Go,. Melita or Satellite receiver!!

The Mp's went on tv to comment due to the world cup (which is considered a world event) being shown only on Melita. I suggest you get your facts right and stop trying to misguide whoever read your comments. Never has any Mp went on record to say that any particular football league is not right to be shown on only 1 service provider.
This is due to the fact that the football rights system exist everywhere in the world.

Remember all the fuss we had when Melita cable had some football rights ? We even had MPs coming on TV and saying that this was not right. The ball is on the other foot, so to speak, Go has all the rights , we do not hear or read of any complaints. why ?? Is it OK now ?? Are the MPs happy with the present situation ?
