SMS voting for best athletes
The Kunsill Malti għall-iSport has announced the SMS numbers to be used for public voting in this year's SportMalta Awards.
The 10 finalists in the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year categories of the Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali are in the running for the SportMalta Awards.
The two athletes who gain most points in a vote comprising journalists, association delegates and the public, will be declared the first winners of the SportMalta Awards tomorrow evening during a presentation night at the Mediterranean Conference Centre where the journalists association's Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali for 2009 will also be named.
Sportswoman of the Year: Sue Abela (50616801), Rebecca Thorensen Brincat (50616803), Therese Camilleri Brusson (50616804), Kim Cassar (50616805) and Danica Spiteri (50616810).
Sportsman of the Year: Alex Borg (50616802), William Chetcuti (50616806), Aaron Ciantar (50616807), Charles Degiorgio (50616808) and Nikolai Portelli (50616809).
SMS voting will close tomorrow.

Whilst thanking the Times for its coverage of this news item, re the SportMalta Awards Ghazliet Sportivi Nazzjonali to be held tomorrow at the Mediterranean Centre Conference Hall at 20.40 hours, allow me to point out that there will be a solitary winner of the SportMalta Award.
This single winner will be declared from among the respective 5 male and 5 female finalists in the Sportiv and Sportiva tas-Sena categories.
