Michael Debono Ltd invests in clean energy
Michael Debono Ltd in collaboration with the European Regional Development Fund and Solar Solutions has installed 432 solar modules or photovoltaic panels, making it the first Maltese organisation to have set up an installation of this size resulting in the generation of 90,720 watts.
Reflecting the efforts which Toyota is making internationally in order to produce eco-friendly vehicles, Michael Debono Ltd said it seeks to be at the forefront in the generation of clean energy.
"The vision of the company is to leave a legacy to future generations of a world where energy requirements are met without jeopardising the environment," it said.
Photovoltaics refer to generating electricity from solar energy. Each PV module comprises several solar cells which are electrically interconnected. To protect against the harshest weather conditions, the cells are embedded between a reinforced glass covering.
Geoffrey Debono, managing director of Michael Debono Ltd, said a photovoltaic system is quite a substantial investment, but it is one which is worthwhile - it is like investing in the future of our planet.
MDL's system will be producing clean energy that will offset a substantial part of the energy requirements of the company. This has been made possible through the co-funding between MDL and the Maltese exchequer, via EU funding as administered by Malta Enterprise.

Nice to see someone taking the first step in the right direction!
Now if we can just get the other 400,000 Maltese to follow your lead, we'd be styling.
Really good example Mr. Debono!
