Van Rompuy arrives on whirlwind visit
European Council President Herman Van Rompuy is in Malta on a whirlwind visit during which he is having talks with the Prime Minister.
Mr Van Rompuy was welcomed to Castille by Dr Gonzi for talks on next month's extraordinary EU summit on the economy.
He flew in from Athens and will head for Berlin this evening for talks during a working dinner with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The visit to Malta is part of the tour of EU capitals by the President.

I hope that this gentleman, in this very short visit, will teach our Government how to benefit from the opportunities available at the E. U.
