Toilets and other neglected infrastructure (2)
The patrons' toilet in a leading retail outlet in San Ġwann has been for many months now without toilet paper and paper towels. The dispensers are always empty.
On the washbasin, the tap sits unsteadily.
If it has been mishandled, surely it's not asking too much to have it fixed properly or replaced.
I have complained about this a few times at intervals but no action has been taken to remedy the situation.
If it is a case of the paper products getting stolen, surely a notice can be put up in a prominent place directing patrons to a customer care source where these can be provided.

The San Gwann Public Convenience is very nicely kept; as is the one directly across from the McDonald's in Birkirkara (for which their localities and cleaners deserve praise). Additionally, the Public Conveniences in Msida are also very nice. The Public Conveniences in Paris, which are self cleaning, may be one way to go and to be investigated - although they require a charge (but so what - its not that much). Perhaps then, we could have a few more in the long stretches - where there are none - and where it would be nice to have one whilst one is walking. Also, the cleaner in the Public Convenience outside the Plaza in Sliema takes tremendous pride in its cleanliness. The one in the Railway Garden in Birkirkara however needs some work as its often a disaster. So all is not lost, there are many many bright spots out there.

@ Katherine Cooke
Sadly enough I have been around for the last 30years and has never seen any toilet paper in Public toilets. I tend to believe that someone is pinching them before they are placed in their holders and blaming Joe public!

Sadly, not the first time. That has been going on for the last 30 years that I know off. But on the other hand, paper is not expensive, even if people do take them, the shops can still add the cost to the retail items, and still make a profit.
