Middlesea Insurance plc has appointed Anne Marie Tabone chief operations officer and Elizabeth Carbonaro general manager of its subsidiary International Insurance Management Services Ltd.
The company also announced David Curmi is to retain his role as chief executive officer of Middlesea Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd and of its subsidiary Growth Investments Ltd.
On December 30, Middlesea Insurance plc named Joseph F. X. Zahra as non-executive chairman designate after current chairman Mario Grech decided not to renew his contract.
Ms Tabone, a certified public accountant, will also retain her role as chief financial officer.
Mr Curmi, a chartered insurer, is also director of IIMS, EuroMed Risk Solutions Ltd, Premium Realty Ltd, and council member of the Malta Insurance Association, director of the Protection and Compensation Fund, chairman of L.B. Factors Ltd, and associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK.
Ms Carbonaro, a certified public accountant, is chief officer, group finance, and is also responsible for the operations of EuroMed Risk Solutions Ltd. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and of the Malta Institute of Accountants, and a member of the Finance Committee of the Malta Insurance Association.
The new appointments are subject to regulatory approval.
