The Labour Party will be offering a model of how the country should be run, party leader Joseph Muscat said this afternoon.
Speaking during a reception for the media, Dr Muscat said the Labour Party was different from other parties in that it would protect the environment without allowing it to strangle development, it would come up with an intelligent reduction in taxes, and it would ensure civil rights and equality.
The Labour Party, he said, had gone in for a political project the aim of which was not an election but a change in the country’s direction.
It wanted Malta to become the best in Europe and it had to start preparing for the EU presidency in seven years’ time.
