Triq il-Baltiku in San Ġwann is one of the streets that is completely ignored by the local council with regard to its requests, especially cleanliness.
When a neighbour, on behalf of the residents, approached a Nationalist councillor who had fought hard for our support at the local elections, she was promised that he would call a meeting for the residents to give them a chance to air their complaints. After a two-month lapse, this lady approached the councillor to enquire about his promise.
His advice was that she should collect signatures before a meeting can be called.
Since when has it become necessary to conduct a "survey" to enable our dedicated councillor to take action and give us the privilege to have our road cleaned?
Regrettably, this is the state of the local council as far as Triq il-Baltiku is concerned. This same councillor says he wants to make San Ġwann "green". By his performance, it seems that his ambition is to let the weeds grow even wilder and the street be cleaned by Mother Nature! Whom does he think he is fooling?
