The first Superbrands programme dedicated to Malta was launched at the Hilton's Portomaso Suite last month.
"Mission accomplished," Maurizio Comollo, Superbrands country head for Malta, told the representatives of the 54 participating organisations participating in the programme who attended the event.
Mr Comollo described the large-format hardbound Superbrands book as "a wonderful, attractive, in-depth insight not only into the most important brands of Malta, but into an important island as a whole. Malta is now playing a growing key role that deserves to be discovered by an international audience for its entrepreneurial approach."
The 54 brands in the programme benefit from the use of a seal of approval, and various tools to assist them in being identified as a success, including the digital book, which is to be hosted in strategic internet areas; the CD, for the first time in a Superbrands programme; and the international portal, with links to various brand websites and access to individual case studies.
The Superbrands Italy office co-ordinated the Malta venture.
Superbrands group CEO Eamonn Sadler told the story of Superbrands, which originated 15 years ago as a local radio show in London.
There are now Superbrands programmes in over 80 countries with 5,000 brands in various programmes.
Superbrands Council Malta president Francis Zammit Dimech spoke about the local branding experience, Lorenzo Mulè Stagno, partner, Henley Business School Malta, conducted a Challenging the Mindset exercise, and Superbrands Malta author Malcolm J. Naudi told the story behind the volume.
Certificates of participation were presented to all participating local brands. Farsons was presented with the "Special Award" by the Superbrands Council Malta.
